About Us

I started Ink & Signature Books with one simple goal: to connect people with books they love.

Like many booksellers, I started as a collector and book lover. What began as a love of finding books that had a particular connection to me, gradually developed into an interest in collecting more widely and, eventually, buying and selling books. Along the way, I began to learn more about the differences between editions, the importance of condition and provenance, and why some copies are more interesting or desirable than others.

Today, Ink & Signature Books is built on that same collector's mindset. Every book is selected with attention to its edition, condition and character, whether it is a signed modern novel, a finely produced hardcover or a well-loved classic.

Based in Sydney, Ink & Signature Books sells a range of secondhand, collectible and antiquarian books. I aim to curate a collection of books that are interesting for more than one reason. This might be because they are first editions or signed copies, have an interesting provenance, contain attractive plates or illustrations, or have particular historical or cultural significance. My own interests are broad and continue to develop, but I am particularly interested in literary fiction, significant books, illustrated works and the history of ideas, including the books represented in Printing and the Mind of Man.

Some books are valued because they are rare or collectible; others because they changed the way people thought about the world, or simply because they are good books in great condition. I think there is room for all of them. Ink & Signature aims to offer books at different levels and for different kinds of readers and collectors, without making the experience of buying them unnecessarily complicated or intimidating.

Every book is described as accurately and honestly as possible, with attention paid to the edition, condition and any characteristics that make a particular copy interesting. Books are packed carefully and sent to customers in Australia and around the world.

Although Ink & Signature has grown beyond the personal collection it started as, I still approach it with the same enjoyment of finding books that are worth reading, collecting and keeping.
